Main application:

The instrument is intended to be used as a mechanical test system for evaluating viscoelastic properties of materials.
The materials may be in solid, melt or liquid state. The instrument may be operated in either dynamic or steady mode.

Dynamic mode: Elastic modulus G', viscous modulus G'', loss tangent (tanδ) and derived quantities.

In this mode the instrument applies a precise sinusoidal shearing to the sample and precisely measures the samples response.

Steady mode: The instrument subjects the test sample to a rotational shear shear at a given shear rate and measures the resulting shear stresses τ and steady shear viscosity η .

Instrument specification

Dynamic mode:
10-2 rad/s < ω < 1000 rad/s (sinusoidal)

Steady mode:
10-2 rad/s < ω < 1000 rad/s (sinusoidal)

Sensitivity: 100 grams

Temperature range: from -40 up to 140 celsius

Software: Orchestrator

The instrument is 'strain controlled'.
