General Information

Gel Permeation Chromatography System (GPC)

Gel Permeation Chromatography is a high performance liquid chromatography technique for the separation of components based on their molecular size in solution.

Faculty of Applied Sciences, Julianalaan 136, 2628 BL Delft

Key words:

polymer characterization, chromatography, GPC, size separation, molecular weight

Main application:

Gel Permeation Chromatography is mainly used for characterising the molecular weight distribution of polymers and the separation of discrete components.

Instrument specification

The GPC system consists of the following Waters components:

  • 1515 Isocratic HPLC Pump
  • 2414 Refractive Index Detector
  • 2487 Dual Wavelength Absorbance Detector
